News 2022/24

Jan 2022 - very many thanks to South Adult Social Care Team form Abingdon who held a raffle and donated some of the proceeds to our group.Thanks also to those who donated prizes - which helped to raise a magnificent sum. Jasper enjoyed helping to receive the cheque. April 2022 - A big welcome to Freddy the piebald and Marmaduke. The mini brigade for our new venture!They have swapped homes with Jasper who leaves us for new adventures. April 2022 - Congratulations to our newly qualified jumping coaches. April 2022 - Grateful thanks to Sarah Ellis who organised another Food Fair in aid of RDA. The event raised the magnificent sum of £5713.Well done Sarah - we all know how much you put into this fair each year. Thanks to all those who supported it as well. Huge thanks to Vanessa Bowler who walked round the Isle of Wight to raise money for us- 22 hours of continuous walking - what a star! May 28th Plant sale and Open Day - A huge thank you to all those who helped make the day so successful - also to those who came to support us. We raised £1500 with more to come. Special thanks to Sarah who does the plant sale and to the fund-raising team who worked so hard. Well done to all those riders, coaches and grooms who marked a very successful day at the Southern region qualifiers. 11 Oct 22 A HUGE thank you to the team from ELANCO who worked tireless to help us with multiple projects on Thursday. This year we had a new addition to the route with some awesome views. Thanks to all our supporters who enjoyed the sponsored ride and helped us raise well over £6,000. Thanks also to the team of photographers who gave up their time to take and sort hundreds of images. November 2022 Sadly, we had to say farewell to Candy and Mr Brown who were best buddies and had both been with us for very many years. We will always keep the two of them in a special place in our hearts - they both gave so much joy and therapy to our riders. Jan 29th 20232 of our ponies and some riders went to their first BD Para Show today and they came away with 2 x 1st and a 2nd and some qualifying points.Amazing effort all round! Well done. 8th May23 Coronation Volunteer DayThank you to all those who gave up their time and transformed our yard. It was a super day made all the more special with a BBQ. 21st May 23Congratulations to our riders who did so well at the Southern Region Qualifiers. An amazing day was had by all. Many thanks to all those who spent so much time getting the horses and tack so shiny. 23rd April 23 - Food Fair at Ardington. Very many thanks to all who made this such a successful and enjoyable event (especially Sarah who works her socks off each year). Final figures are not yet in but are believed to be over £5k. May 14th - we held a plant sale with many additional stalls. Especial thanks to Sarah Wilkinson who astounds us each year with her abundance and variety of plants. Thanks you also to those who gave up their time to make this a special team event. We made over £1000. July - National Championships.Many congratulations to all those who did so well - you were a credit to our group!Huge thanks to all those volunteers and staff who rose at unthinkable hours, brushed and polished, made sure that everything was packed and that our horses were catered for and happy.Thanks also to those who lent horses - some of our riders could not have taken part without you. A huge “Thank You” to the wonderful team from Infineum who came and volunteered for the day today. They got stuck in with all sorts of jobs on the yard that often get overlooked with all the horses needing daily care. We are so grateful for their help and the yard looks fantastic. AGM - we held out AGM by Zoom this year on Nov 16th, The financial year report is available for download. 17th Nov 2023 - Very many thanks to the hard working team from Infineum who paid us a second visit today. They cleared shrubbery, painted stables and cleaned tack. An amazing amount of work accomplished, 9th Dec 23 - huge thanks to Green Gym for working so hard clearing our ditches. We appreciate your support in keeping the water flowing downstream. Dec 23.A big thank you to Milestone Infrastructure Services and their sub-contractors Aggregate Industries, Drayton Construction and Wilson & Scott for surfacing and associated works to the drive and car park through their Social Value initiative in helping charitable causes. It looks amazing! Dec 23Thank you so much to the 13 employees of Newton Europe Ltd who spent a day with us, painting, sorting out the muck heap and cleaning tack.We are all set to start the New Year clean, tidy and sparkling!

6th April 2024 Huge thanks to Nikki and her Dad Tim who led the team for the Race Night. They raised a total of £4825 - an amazing amount. Thanks to all those who donated proceeds, time and effort. So many people had tremendous fun.

Sarah Barlow:- So many thanks for yet another successful Food Fair. There was an amazing turnout and the content was so interesting and varied. We really appreciate the hard work that you put into making this such a successful event and seriously appreciate the money that you raised for us. Thank you Sarah and all those who supported her.

Thank you to the Wakems who gave us so much joy for the on-the ground sessions with the Shetlands. They have now left us for a new home but we will be missing them.

Coaches and trustees had a tea party to say thank you to Gwenfair for her many years of volunteering with us. It was also an ideal opportunity to say thank you to Ann for49 years with the group. Ann remains a trustee but retires as chair.
